Radioactive Contamination Japan Reaches Pakistan


Traces of radioactive iodine in very small amounts are believed to come from the Fukushima Nuclear Power in Japan which damaged have been found in Pakistan, according to local news media, the Daily Times on Saturday.

The long distance from Japan and the mixing of air along the way make the radiation that reached Pakistan is very thin, the report said quoting the Pakistan Atomic Energy Council (PAEC).

Radioactive iodine which is found in Pakistan is very small and billions of times smaller than the number of levels that can threaten public health or the environment, PAEC said that there is no vigilance in all aspects.

This was confirmed by nuclear scientists from Pakistan, Dr. Jamshaid Zaidi, that the level of radioactive iodine which is known not to cause danger to the community and environment.
